Sooji Upma
Quick and healthy sooji upma using Nandi Sooji. Light, fluffy, and packed with vegetables. Sharbati wheat semolina gives uniform granules for the perfect upma texture. A balanced breakfast in 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- Nandi Sooji (1 cup)
- Onion, chopped (1)
- Mustard seeds (1 tsp)
- Curry leaves (8-10)
- Peanuts (2 tbsp)
- Green chilli (2)
- Ghee (2 tbsp)
Steps
- Dry roast sooji till light golden and fragrant. Set aside.
- Heat ghee, splutter mustard seeds, add curry leaves, peanuts, chillies, onion.
- Add 2.5 cups water, bring to boil. Add salt.
- Add roasted sooji slowly while stirring. Cook 3-4 minutes till thick.
Kitchen Tips
Roast sooji first for better texture. Add water in correct ratio (1:2.5). Stir continuously to avoid lumps.
